Providing specialized dentistry for children and adolescents in a child-friendly environment. As pediatric dentists, we focus on preventive care to help each child grow a healthy smile that will last a lifetime. Our office serves infants, children, teens, and children with special health care needs in Parkland, FL including the surrounding cities of Boca Raton, Coral Springs and Coconut Creek, FL.
The foundation of healthy smiles. Regular cleanings every 6 months, fluoride treatments to strengthen enamel, dental sealants on back molars (reduces cavities by 80%), and oral health education for kids AND parents. We catch problems before they start.
Even with great home care, some children develop cavities. We use tooth-colored composite fillings, gentle numbing techniques, and nitrous oxide for anxious children. Baby teeth get the same expert care as adult teeth - untreated cavities can damage permanent teeth developing underneath.
Nitrous oxide (laughing gas) for mild anxiety - starts in minutes, wears off in minutes. Oral conscious sedation for longer procedures or high anxiety - child is relaxed with no memory of the procedure. All sedation options are safety-monitored throughout.
Knocked-out teeth, chipped teeth from sports, sudden severe pain - we reserve time for same-day emergencies. Call immediately for knocked-out permanent teeth (30-minute window for re-implantation). We're here for your child when they need us most.
Extended appointments, sensory-friendly environment, behavior guidance techniques, desensitization visits, coordination with your child's care team. We welcome every child - including those who've been turned away elsewhere. Every child deserves excellent dental care.
The AAPD recommends orthodontic evaluation by age 7. We screen for crossbites, crowding, jaw growth issues, and bite problems. Early detection means simpler treatment. We partner with excellent orthodontists throughout Broward County for referrals when needed.

There are plenty of pediatric dentists in the area, but what really sets Sunshine KiDDS apart is the time Dr. George takes with my daughter to connect with her and make her feel comfortable and at ease. No matter how busy they are, she gives us her undivided attention and never rushes us. I always notice how she finds a good balance to explain the treatment plan with both my daughter and I in a way we can both understand. She is very knowledgeable and answers our questions thoroughly. The staff here is exceptional, and the facility is beautiful!
Dr. George is a phenomenal pediatric dentist. Since we moved to Florida, we've been looking for a great practice for the kids. We tried a few other dentists over the past several years (who were average) but I kept looking because I wanted to take them somewhere exceptional. We eventually landed at Sunshine KiDDS Dentistry. It was Dr. George's credentials that originally brought us into the office, but it's totally her wonderful bedside manner and her incredible ability to work with kids that has me recommending her to everyone I know.
Today i took my daughter for her first dentist visit and it was amazing! I absolutely loved the office, we met Lindsey and Dr. George, they were so great and comforting. Made my daughters first experience better than i could have imagined! highly recommended!
We're here when you need us most
The American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry recommends scheduling your child’s first dental visit by their first birthday or within six months of their first tooth erupting whichever comes first.
Why so early? Baby teeth are susceptible to cavities as soon as they appear. Early visits establish trust before any problems develop, allow us to catch developmental concerns, and give parents proper brushing guidance for tiny teeth.
At Sunshine KiDDS, first visits are gentle and educational no drilling, no scary tools. Just a quick look, a soft rush cleaning, and lots of positive reinforcement.
Pediatric dentists complete 2-3 additional years of specialized residency training after dental school, focusing
exclusively on children’s dental and emotional development. Dr. George is also board-certified — a distinction
held by only about 30% of pediatric dentists nationwide.
Specialized training covers: behavior guidance for anxious children, treatment of special needs patients,
development of primary and permanent teeth, pediatric sedation protocols, and dental trauma management.
Think of it this way: you’d take your child to a pediatrician instead of a general practitioner. The same logic
applies to dental care.
Yes. We offer nitrous oxide (laughing gas) for mild to moderate anxiety – it starts working within minutes,
keeps children awake and responsive, and wears off within minutes after removal. Most insurance plans cover
it. For longer procedures or highly anxious children, oral conscious sedation provides deeper relaxation. Children
are drowsy but responsive, with no memory of the procedure afterward.
Dr. George is certified in pediatric sedation and continuously monitors vital signs throughout every sedation
appointment. We will always discuss options with you before making any decisions.
At home: brush twice daily with fluoride toothpaste (rice-grain size for under 3, pea-size for 3+), floss when
teeth touch, limit sugary drinks and sticky snacks, and never put babies to bed with bottles of milk or juice -water only.
In our office: professional cleanings every 6 months remove plaque your toothbrush can’t reach. Fluoride treatments strengthen enamel. Dental sealants on back molars reduce cavity risk by up to 80%.
Prevention is always easier, faster, and less expensive than treatment. Our job is to keep your child’s teeth
healthy so they never need extensive work.
Absolutely. We proudly serve children with autism spectrum disorder, sensory processing disorders, ADHD,
Down syndrome, cerebral palsy, and other developmental or medical differences.
We offer: extended appointment times, sensory-friendly environments, communication tailored to your child’s
style, desensitization ‘happy visits,’ weighted blankets and fidget tools, and flexible sedation options. We also
coordinate with your child’s other healthcare providers.
Please call before scheduling so we can discuss your child’s specific needs and ensure we are the right fit for
your family.
For permanent teeth – act immediately. Pick up the tooth by the crown (never the root), rinse gently with milk if dirty (not water), and try to reinsert it in the socket. If that’s not possible, store it in milk. Call us immediately – permanent teeth have the best survival chance within 30 minutes of re-implantation.
For baby teeth — do NOT try to reinsert them (this can damage the permanent tooth underneath). Control
bleeding, apply a cold compress, and call our office for an exam.
We always prioritize dental emergencies. Call (754) 203-3003 and tell us it’s an emergency.
